Merry Christmas, Mr. Sakamoto
I had in mind an id of creating a distinctly "Asian" sounding (whatever that means) tuned percussion generator that was both simple sounding and subtly complex at the same time, with a clear melodic foreground and some glitchy effects in the background. Sequencing a few bars of Ryuichi Sakamoto's signature tune ("Forbidden Colors") from the film "Mr. Christmas, Mr. Lawrence" seemed like a natural fit for a test run.
